Home Repair

Housing is foundational to the success, strength and stability of each of us. Habitat for Humanity partners with families to build and fortify this foundation in a number of ways. One of these is the rehabilitation and repair of existing homes.

Aging in Place

Providing home repairs that help seniors remain in their homes safely and independently. 
Applicant must:
  • be 55+ years old
  • own and reside in the home
  • live in Douglas or Jefferson County
  • have an income less than 80% of the median family income (MFI)
Repayment involves:
  • sliding scale based on HUD income levels
  • interest-free payment plan
  • five hours of sweat/social equity 
Projects include:
  • ramps
  • hand rails
  • porch repair
  • exterior house repair
  • gutter/soffit repair
  • siding repair
  • roof work
  • interior accessibility 
*We do not do foundation or sidewalk repair. 
*At this time, we're pausing on accepting new applications, as we complete our current workload. Please contact Erika 
to be added to the repairs application waitlist.*

Critical Repair

Providing extensive work to address health and safety issues.
Applicant must:
  • own and reside in the home
  • live in Douglas or Jefferson County
  • have an income less than 80% of the median family income (MFI)
Repayment involves:
  • sliding scale based on HUD income levels
  • interest-free payment plan
  • five hours of sweat/social equity 
Projects include:
  • roof
  • furnace
  • hot water heater
  • ramp
  • plumbing work
  • electrical work
  • mechanical work

Mobile Home Repair

Providing home repairs that help seniors remain in their homes safely and independently. 
Applicant must:
  • be 55+ years old

Projects include:
  • ramps

  • trip/fall hazards
  • porch repair
  • siding repair
  • roof work
