Women Build brings together women from all walks of life to address Habitat’s mission of eliminating poverty housing.

How can I get involved in Women Build?
The most obvious way is to help construct a home. But you can lend a hand to Women Build without stepping foot on a build site. You can join the Women Build committee or the Women Build Luncheon committee and help prepare for the next Women Build in Lawrence!

Do I need to have any construction experience to help build?
The short answer? No! 

Does Habitat promote feminist issues?
We believe that decent, affordable housing is not a feminist issue. Women Build has one mission: to empower women to take action against poverty housing conditions. 

Does Women Build exclude men?
Women Build is not about excluding men, but more concerned with including women. The program opens new doors of opportunity for women to give back to their community. 

How do homeowners feel about their home being built by women?
The homeowners are thrilled to finally have a place to call their own. Women of all ages are capable of building homes. For single mothers, Women Build is even more empowering.
