Many thanks to everyone who came out to our three events this month to celebrate our 25th Anniversary! Take a look below at the recap of our events in photos:September 13th: Nail Drive for our 86th Home
On Saturday, September 13th we started our celebrations off with the Nail Drive Ceremony for our 86th partner family, Danielle Zamora-Clark and her 3 children. A beautiful morning and a great first day of building!September 20th: 25th Anniversary Celebration
Our 25th Anniversary Celebration was held at South Middle School. In attendance included guest speaker Jose Quinonez, Director of Volunteer & Advocacy Engagement and Habitat International, Mayor Amyx, and Lawrence Habitat’s founder, Reverend John Gingerich.
Following our speakers and the presentation of our 2014 Volunteer Award winners, guests enjoyed tasty treats provided by Pachamama’s and Eileen’s Bakery, and were able to browse 25 years worth of archives on display.
The completion of our 16 home neighborhood named in honor of the late Clay Comfort was a great time. The unveiling of the Comfort brick memorial was special, with Clay’s widow Ardis there to help celebrate and honor one of Lawrence Habitat’s most dedicated volunteers. Following the unveiling, everyone enjoyed a pancake feed by Chris Cakes, the artistic talents of Balloon Man Bill, and the beautiful fall weather.
