The greatest gift that can possible be given is one’s heart.

–Millard Fuller, Habitat founder

Through prayer,  Habitat for Humanity continues to make a dramatic difference in the lives of people around the world. The hurdles of funding and building homes are overcome through the miracle of prayer.

Lawrence Habitat for Humanity wants to engage places of worship in the spiritual aspects of our ministry.

  • Pray privately or together as a congregation for the ministry of Lawrence Habitat for Humanity and the homeowners.
  • Lead a devotion or prayer during our nail drive or dedication ceremonies or at our build sites during construction (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays).
  • Set aside on Sabbath a year to draw attention to the need for safe, decent and affordable housing. Lawrence Habitat for Humanity can provide a speaker and other materials.

International Day of Prayer

September 21st, 2014, is the International Day of Prayer and Action for Human Habitat. It’s a time for the entire Habitat for Humanity community to come together in prayer for those in need of shelter.
