Meet Our Families
Madison & Wyatt Fowler
105th Lawrence Habitat Homeowner
Madison Fowler and her son Wyatt are ready to leave behind third-floor apartment life and the relentless cycle of renting, especially when affordable and adequate space is nearly impossible to find. As the inaugural homeowner of Lawrence Habitat’s moderate-income housing in Eudora, Madison is ready to establish roots for her family with a yard, a driveway, privacy, and all the benefits homeownership can offer.
Madison is the sole provider for her family and loves her job as a dental assistant. She enjoys listening to music, attending concerts, and loves animals of all kinds. She is already making plans to add a Ball Python to their family to keep company with their two cats, Penelope and Socks.
Wyatt has been preparing to be a homeowner his whole life, all four years. He’s fascinated with appliances and all the details about how they work, and loves to do chores, especially laundry. Madison jokes, “He rattles off numbers and parts like he’s worked on air conditioning units forever. He’s going to love being in a home where he can be the #1 repairman on duty.”
By partnering with Lawrence Habitat for Humanity, Madison will not only have adequate space for her family, including a yard and to play in, but she will also gain the long-term benefit of being a homeowner – building equity all on her own.
When asked what she is most looking forward to about the Habitat process, Madison says, “I’m looking forward to giving back to the community and having an opportunity to share about the Habitat mission. Building my neighbor’s home as part of my sweat equity is an experience I can’t wait to be a part of.”
